Back To School with Hey Monday's Cassadee Pope: The Cheerleader

Back to school time! Does it suprise you at all that C. Pope was a cheerleader? I mean, just LOOK at how cheery her school photo looks! Read on to find out how she got in trouble for something she didn't do and the two bands that guided her through high school.

What were your extracurricular activities?

I cheered from freshman year til junior year, I was in chorus freshman year, I was really involved in homecoming week, and I was a class rep in SGA til junior year. 

What was your high school's mascot?

Our mascot was the wolverine!

Did you ever write down a REALLY ridiculous answer on a test?

I was always really serious about tests and school in general. So no goofy answers ever!

If you could have gone to any fictional high school, which one would it have been?

I would've gone to the high school in Twilight so I could've sat at the Cullen table for lunch. That is if they wouldn't eat me first. 

Favorite place to hang or hide at your school?

I loved the courtyard. Every morning before school and after school I'd hang there with friends and socialize. It was our time to just pretend we weren't at school. 

What did you usually eat for lunch?

I was always kind of self conscience about what I brought for lunch. I'm big into tuna sandwiches but I was nervous people would smell it and think I was gross for eating it haha. So I bought hot lunch a lot. I loved taco day. 

Were you ever bullied?  If so, how did you deal with it?

I was never bullied. But I did see it happen. I was somehow a part of a lot of different groups and cliques. So I felt like it was my duty to keep everyone in check. For the most part I'd stay out of the drama. But sometimes if two good friends of mine got into it, I'd step in and try and mediate. 

What song, band or album do you most identify with your high school experience?

I think it's between Yellowcard and Fall Out Boy. I was pretty obsessed with both bands in high school. 

What was the most trouble you ever got in, and what was it for?

One time my math teacher thought I was cheating (and I swear I wasn't!) so he called my mom. My mom has pretty much the same voice as I do. He thought I answered her phone and pretended to be her. So of course I got in more trouble the next day. My mom finally convinced him it was her on the phone after the second call. Am I really that suspicious?!

Which high school from a music video would you want to go to?

I'd want to go to the high school with the people in Katy Perrys new video for TGIF. Although they didn't actually show the school, that party looked awesome. And I would've definitely partied with Rebecca Black. She gives a mean makeover!
